Volunteering at Cinemagic’s Film Festival

During October to November 2015 Cinemagic had their film festival in Belfast. This year I found out when they had their festival and decided I wanted to volunteer at their events. During the festival I helped out at Cinema Screenings, School events and Masterclass’s. I got so much experience while helping out at all the events which I thoroughly enjoyed. I especially enjoyed the BAFTA Kids event at the ODEAN in Victoria Square. The BAFTA KIDS event was set up with CBBC held for primary school children to present to them their favourite TV shows. This was to encourage them to nominate their favourite TV show for the BAFTA KIDS award. After this event we went along to a primary school to present the whole event to another set of children. During the event a very special guest appeared, Connor Byrne who is well know for playing Mike Milligan from Tracy Beaker and Tracy Beaker Returns. I was absolutely delighted to see Connor as I was a big fan of his when I was growing up, so I can tell you that made my day!

Another event I helped out at was the Alan Selvestri Masterclass. This was another favourite of mine while helping out at the festival. I loved listening to Alan’s history and his becoming of a TV/Film Composer. It was very interesting especially to see un edited footage of his work for example ‘Forest Gump’.
